106.9 The Wolf, Country Grocer and Newcastle Nissan have teamed up to help the Loaves & Fishes Community Food Bank in Nanaimo this holiday season with Food Bank Friday. The Wolf will be live on location from 10am to 6pm at Country Grocer in Chase River at the Chase River Marketplace on 12th Street, where we will fill a Nissan Titan truck with donations for the Loaves & Fishes Community Food Bank.
The Loaves & Fishes Community Food Bank is a voluntary community agency, dependent on the generosity and caring of Nanaimo to be successful in their work. They strive to provide a modest supplement of food to individuals and families in need, once a week, all year long. Currently they are providing an average of 3,000 adult survival bags and 1000 family bag supplements each month. Your donations help 400 children each week. This is an increase of over 10% from last year & represents a need for $15,000 in purchased food and $25,000 of donated food each and every month.
Country Grocer has pre-made donation hampers for purchase for $15, $20, and $25 or help anyway you can.
