PARKSVILLE — An often pothole-filled parking lot at one of Parksville’s biggest destinations will soon be paved.
The ministry of environment announced on Friday, Jan. 22 the currently gravel day-use parking lot at Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park will be paved over.
The project is expected to cost $90,000.
“Rathtrevor Beach is one of the premier vacation destinations on Vancouver Island,” Parksville-Qualicum MLA Adam Walker said in a release. “This project increases accessibility so everyone can enjoy this beautiful area.”
Rathtrevor Beach is one of 24 parks sharing $5 million in infrastructure funding.
There’s no announced timeline for the paving project.
